We had such a wonderful service celebrating our Children’s Ministries program!

A Future with Hope construction began on Tuesday, May 30th with the removal of our boiler. As David Swain began documenting the occasion he mentioned to the crew that we have had a love/hate relationship with this boiler for decades now. The foreman responded, “Well, we’ve been hating it since noon today” (as he and 3 other men lugged enormously heavy pieces of cast iron out of the furnace room).
On Sunday, May 21st the choirs of Holy Family Parish and West Concord Union Church sang a choral medley from Godspell by Stephen Schwartz. Enjoy the highlights below!
A huge thanks to the WCUC Youth for offering leadership and inspiration for Sunday’s service. The sermon was based on several class conversations where we discussed what it means and feels like to be “beloved” – by God and by others – and how that can influence our sense of belonging. A question was posed this way to the congregation: “Think of a time in your life when you felt really comfortable being yourself, known and accepted for who you truly are…a situation where you experienced a deep sense of belonging. Where were you? Who were you with? What did it feel like?
We’d love to hear your responses in the comments section below!
On Sunday, April 30th, we celebrated Pastor Hannah’s last Sunday before her sabbatical and welcomed Rev. Lee Atherton (and her dog Shadow!) to our faith community. Rev. Lee will serve as sabbatical pastor while Hannah enjoys her sabbatical, and we surprised both of them with a festive party after worship! Cupcakes, decorations, flowers, and a fellowship hall filled with people (and a dog!) rounded out our joyful celebration. Huge blessings to Hannah and a huge welcome to Lee!
