John Ortberg, in his book The Life You’ve Always Wanted, warns his readers about hurry-sickness. Discover if you suffer from this potentially life-changing condition. And learn from the story of Martha and Mary what Jesus suggests we do for a life-saving response.
The Garden Invasion
How do we sew the seeds of justice and care for this amazing gift called Earth in the midst of climate change, even when the beauty is “invaded?”
Dancing Through Fire
John the Baptist told his followers that one who is more powerful than him would come, and would baptize with the holy spirit and fire. It is most often the image of a dove that comes to mind when we think of baptism. How do we imagine the fire? How do we dance through the fire not only of Baptism, but of life?
Construction Update
Time for another update on our new, eco friendly heating system! With the completion of the outdoor portion of the project, the team has moved their work inside. New copper pipes run throughout the majority of the building now, and crews are making sure all are level and secure before covering up the piping. Electrical line pipes are also installed, and the two small closets where they lead have now become one larger space, to accommodate the electrical panels that will soon be installed. Fraser Engineering has also set up a portion of a wall for church members to sign to memorialize the project, that will later be installed to hold electrical equipment. Exciting stuff!

Construction Project Makes History
On Monday, June 12th several church members got an emergency phone call from Judy: the electricians needed the History Closet emptied for an additional panel to handle our solar output. Susan A., David Sw., Dave S., Susan C., and of course, Maynard, spent an hour moving old records to North Hall. Once, we found Maynard reading old records between loads, so we tried to stage a photo where we opened the closet and there was Maynard! Meantime, the heavy equipment for the street electrical project had arrived. On Wednesday, the ditch was dug, concrete poured in, and massive steel street plates brought in to allow traffic to resume. By Friday, the trench was sealed with asphalt. Now the serious work begins inside!
