It was a busy and dynamic day of celebration at WCUC, inside and outside!

On Palm Sunday, our children experienced Jesus’ final week through a variety of multisensory stations and activities. Check out the pictures of our journey!
Sunday School was back in-person and in full swing for the month of March, and we have been BUSY. Gathering together for the season of Lent has been a joy, and our bible explorations and activity responses have been a wonderful mixture of art, sewing, building, decorating and dancing. Check out our pictures for a sneak peek into our experiences for all three weeks of Sunday School!
On Sunday, March 6th, we honored six children with the gift of a special bible from WCUC. It was wonderful to present these gifts in-person during worship! Following the service, the children joined me downstairs for a fun bible scavenger hunt and bookmark crafts. I hope seeing these bible gifts will inspire you to open your bible at home and explore the stories within – read them, learn them, live them, and pass them along!
Why does God make such a big production of the Transfiguration (Luke 9:28-36)? A sermon for February 27th, 2022.
The joy and excitement were overflowing as we marked the momentous occasion of our children back in our sanctuary and back in Sunday school after almost 22 months at home or outside! It felt so good to gather again, and the kids didn’t miss a beat getting back into the swing of our routines. We began by marking the fourth Sunday of Advent with prayers and candle lighting, read a beautiful story called Amazing Peace by Maya Angelou, played “No Room at the Inn!” (a rousing game of musical chairs), and dove into a variety of Advent-themed activities. The morning was a beautiful illustration of the hope, peace, joy and love of Advent, and we look forward to many more weeks together!
