Apple Picking!

  • October 9, 2015

On Sunday, October 4th, twenty-eight children and adults joined us for a beautiful fall afternoon at Carver Hill Orchard in Stow for a pizza lunch and apple picking (and we all bought a few donuts too!).  It was a wonderful time for parents to chat, for kids to climb trees, and for everyone to sample and collect bags and bags of delicious fall apples.  We are already looking forward to next year’s trip!DSC09116 DSC09117 DSC09139 DSC09142 DSC09156 DSC09154 DSC09138

Covenanting Sunday Celebration!

  • September 15, 2015

On Sunday, September 6th we came together as a congregation in worship to celebrate and renew our covenant to travel in faith together, then we gathered together for a festive fellowship in North Hall to reconnect with friends after the long summer.  Since Pastor Hannah preached on the story of Noah and the Great Flood during worship, everything in fellowship was rainbow-themed: rainbow play dough, necklaces, and a banner created with rainbow paint samples were perfect activities for our children, and delicious, colorful snacks and drinks were enjoyed by all.  We even had a rainbow photo booth with themes of gratitude for everyone to enjoy!  Lots of pictures, laughter, conversation, and fun activities were enjoyed by all.  What a wonderful start to our program year!DSC08957 DSC08959 DSC08962 DSC08963 DSC08964

Celebrating as a congregation at our Lent Event

  • February 23, 2015

On Sunday, February 22nd, our congregation came together after worship to celebrate the first Sunday of Lent at our annual Lent Event.  Lenten resources for both children and adults were in abundance, as were delicious refreshments and fellowship.  We also offered three activities open to all ages:

  • Planting Lenten grass seed in two indoor garden containers – this grass will sprout and grow for the 40 days of Lent, cared for by the preschool and multiage Sunday School classes
  • Decorating an Alleluia Banner – using a variety of art media, both children and adults had fun decorating our Alleluia Banner, which will be hidden away for Lent and brought out in celebration on Easter Sunday
  • Carving Ivory soap – using plastic knives, we carved soft Ivory soap into a variety of Christian symbols (fish, cross, heart, butterfly) to remind us of the themes of Lent and that Jesus “washed” away our sins when he died for us on the cross
